Reproductive Freedom
The ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project protects everyone's right to make informed decisions free from government interference about whether and when to become a parent. The ACLU also co-founded a local coalition, Metropolitan Coalition for Responsible Sex Education (MCRSE), along with Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri, YWCA of Greater Kansas City and PROMO in the Kansas City are. The coalition advocates for copmrehensive, medically-accurate, age-appropriate sex education for young people in public schools.
We work with partner organizations across Kansas and Missouri to defeat legislation which undermines the ability of women to access reproductive health care, including birth control, family planning, and abortion.
